Then, you are the one we are looking for as our new Senior Human Factors Specialist in FORCE Technology’s department for Simulation, Ports & Human Factors.
You will become part of FORCE Technology’s maritime business unit providing human factors services to not only maritime industry but to other industries as well.
About the role and key responsibilities
You will work as a consultant for clients in Denmark and internationally on projects and/or in the role as their Senior Human Factors Specialist where you will accommodate to the corporate culture of various clients, blending into their organizations and work seamlessly as an integral part of their teams.
Working as a Senior Human Factors Specialist means that you will use many different aspects of your skills and qualifications, that you will be challenged on a daily basis by difficult but exciting problems, but also that you will experience great success and support when you manage to “crack the code”.
You will experience that the results of your work can have a direct impact on peoples’ life, their work conditions or their well-being as well as the safety and performance of the companies you work for.
The work can be a combination of investigations and interventions in the field, tests and surveys, planning and execution of education and training programs, development of cultural transformation programs, presentations for stakeholders, management and the client’s clients, marketing and sales activities and scoping of projects and activities.
Work will take place on the client’s site and facilities and/or at FORCE Technology’s facilities and you will be responsible for the administration and contact with the client from first encounter to final deliveries.
You should expect to be placed in a first mover role where you will set the agenda and drive a transition and shift of paradigm in the organizations you work with. You will be their “ambassador” for the contemporary concepts in human factors and safety, and you will, being part of the early adopters, need all your communicative skills when facing the sceptics and receiving pushback from the laggards.
Your profile
Your educational background is a master’s degree in psychology or alternatively a master’s degree in other social or humanistic sciences combined with relevant training in psychology.
You will need a minimum of 5 years of experience from working in at least 2 of the following industries to match the job:
- Medical device design or health care
- Transportation (rail, road, sea, air)
- Energy (e.g., offshore oil and gas)
- Consumer behavior or design of consumer products
It is important that you have experience, qualifications or a strong interest in safety, human factors, applied psychology and occupational and organizational psychology and an interest in usability and user experience.
You should also have a solid experience using different psychological methods for research and development purposes including experimental methods, ethnographic observations, psychometric evaluation and psycho-physiological methods and technologies (e.g., eye-tracking).
You must be able to accommodate to the corporate culture of various clients, blending into their organizations and work seamlessly as an integral part of their teams. This includes compliance with the client’s work schedule, policies and training programs.
It is important that you are proficient in English and Norwegian, Swedish or Danish and that you have experience communicating psychological concepts to a broad audience, e.g., from teaching, presentations, copywriting, as an author or producing podcasts, videos or blogs on social media.
